Pain influences every part of your life; your mood, your relationships, sleep, quality of life, ability to work and mobility. The good news is hypnotherapy is proven to help chronic pain. Hypnotherapy can assist to relieve pain  as a singular therapy or  in combination with other health strategies such as body work, physio, acupuncture and diet.

There is evidence that hypnosis works to alleviate chronic pain, and medical imaging studies have shown that hypnotic therapy influences all of the cortical and neuro-physiological processes that underline pain. Current scientific research shows that hypnotherapy treatment causes both pain perception thresholds, and pain tolerance levels, to be strikingly increased.

All sorts of things create chronic pain: arthritis, fibromyalgia, TMJ dysfunction, diabetic neuropathy, shingles, multiple sclerosis or back issues.

Chronic pain and illness is isolating and extremely stressful.

Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that helps you manage your pain enabling you to take back control over your pain and your life by enabling you to change your thoughts and emotional responses to both your pain and to external factors. This will assist you to retrain neural pathways and calm down your central nervous system, helping you lay down new templates of response in the areas of the brain responsible for determining the pain experience.  Science has discovered that thoughts, emotions and physical movement create chemical reactions in our body, which either calm or amplify our central nervous system. By changing your response to pain and the way you think about pain, you can in fact change your pain state. How we focus our attention can have a significant impact on our experience of pain. Research shows the more we can divert our attention from pain, the less signal we create in our pain pathways.

It is scientifically proven that thoughts, feelings and movements are all players in exciting or inhibiting the process of Central Nervous System Sensitization (CNSS). If you live with the pain of Fibromyalgia, also known as CNSS, it is important to know that the chemicals associated with your thoughts, feelings and emotions either calm down the central nervous system or excite the system.
